Does 65/75℃ high temp LED lights refer to ambient or operating temperature?

LEDRHYTHM refers to ambient temperature. It indicates that high temp LED lights can safely start and long-term operate stably in ambient temperatures up to 75°C, this is result of our 5000-hour test. During operation, the actual operating temperature of the LED chip, driver, and cooling system will be even higher. This can typically be 20–50°C or more higher than the ambient temperature, depending on the power, design structure, and airflow conditions.

Many high temp LED lighting manufacturers do not specify this in detail; the stated 120°C-150°C may only refer to lamp body temperature. This distinction is important when making a selection.

  • Power: 196.5W to 197-198W after 5000 hours.
  • Luminous flux: 24,894lm to 23,284lm, minimal degradation.
  • Luminous efficacy: Maintains above 120 lm/W.
  • Color temperature (CCT): 4703K to 4772K.

Key Features

Our high temp LED lights can stable operation at 65°C/75°C and lifespan exceeding 50,000 hours. They also boast IP65/IP66 ratings and feature high strength die-cast aluminum or PC housings, effectively protecting against dust, water, and corrosion. In order to withstand higher ambient temperatures, in addition to using better and more heat-resistant materials, the most crucial element is driver power supply. The special driver we use is very superior in both heat dissipation and heat resistance.

High temp LED vs Ordinary LED vs Traditional Fixtures

Professionally designed high temperature LED lights are born for extreme thermal environments, all materials and designs are geared towards better heat resistance and heat dissipation. Ordinary high-bay LED lights, will quickly fail in steel mills. Color Temperature Selection

In high temperature industrial lighting environments, we recommend combination of high and low color temperatures. This affects both production safety and visual visibility.

  • CCT is 4000K-6500K produces bright white light; higher the number, greater the proportion of blue light and clearer the vision, and better detail reproduction. This color temperature is suitable for overall factory lighting.
  • CCT light below 3000K, and even at 1800/2200K, tends to be yellowish and amber, with higher proportion of red and yellow light. It has stronger penetrating power and can reduce thermal shadows caused by steam and dust.

Does high temperature affect LED lights?

Yes, high temperature is one of the most severe challenges facing LED lighting, which will significantly affect its performance and lifespan. For example, light efficiency decline, accelerated light decay, reduced color rendering, and power failure.

High-temperature LED lights are unaffected by higher temperatures, illuminating instantly without loss of luminous flux, malfunctioning, or lifespan reduction.

Traditional lamps (HQI, HPS and LPS) become noticeably dimmer, have a shorter lifespan, start more slowly, and even pose safety risks such as short circuits and ruptures when exposed to high ambient temperatures.
