LED Soccer and Football Field Lights
Professional LED soccer and football field lights with high power and high lumen. High luminous efficiency, low energy consumption, and lifespan of nearly 100,000 hours. Provide uniform and soft lighting for the entire field and stands.

What are LED Soccer and Football Field Lights?
LED football field lights are professionally designed, large-scale LED flood lights. Unlike ordinary flood lights and sports lighting fixtures, LED football field lights are typically installed on poles over 15 meters high or above stands. They require ultra-high power and lumen output to illuminate large football fields. Furthermore, they require a more uniform light distribution design and stricter protection levels, such as protection against heavy rain, strong winds, vibration and even summer heat.
Therefore, professional LED football field lights not only has lower energy consumption and longer lifespan, but more importantly, it can evenly and softly illuminate the entire field and can operate stably for a long time.
LEDRHYTHM - LED Flood Lights For Soccer & Football Field
At LEDRHYTHM, we recommend our floodlight series for LED football field lighting. With a color rendering index CRI>90, we can provide solutions that meet the lighting standards of entertainment, training and professional competition-level football fields.
Firstly, LEDRHYTHM LED floodlights for football field lighting are IP66 waterproof and IK08-IK10 shockproof, ensuring they can withstand harsh outdoor weather. Furthermore, most fixtures feature a modular design, allowing for flexible power selection and enhanced heat dissipation. We offer a variety of beam angles to ensure even coverage for any soccer field.
Football Field Lighting Layout
A common layout for football field lighting is 4 or 6 high poles, each equipped with several LED flood lights. This layout allows the entire field to be illuminated while reducing costs. For professional football fields, additional poles are needed, or adding fixtures to the top of the stands improves field illumination and meets competition lighting standards.
4 Pole Layout
Arrange a light pole at each corner of the football field, which is suitable for small and medium-sized fields and has low cost. Some areas may have insufficient illumination or shadows.
6 Pole Layout
6-pole layout adds a light pole on each side of the center of the football field, which can improve the overall illumination and uniformity, effectively eliminating dark areas and meet the lighting needs of professional competitions.

Soccer and Football Field Lighting Standards
Professional football field lighting must comply with relevant standards set by the CIE, the FIFA, and local sports lighting standards. Different football field uses require different lighting standards. For example, standards for recreational and training fields are lower, while those for competitions and broadcasts are more stringent.

- Training: An average illumination of 200–300 lx with uniformity of ≥0.5 is sufficient for daily training.
- Professional matches: An average illumination of 500–750 lx with uniformity of ≥0.6 is sufficient for an entire football field.
- HD broadcasting: Illumination of 1000 lx or higher, with uniformity of ≥0.7, are generally required. A Color Rendering Index (CRI) of ≥90 is also required to ensure color fidelity.
Football Field Level | Average Horizontal Illuminance (lx) | Uniformity (Eh min/Eh avg) | CRI (Ra) |
---|---|---|---|
Training / Recreational | 200–300 | ≥0.5 | ≥70 |
Professional Matches | 500–750 | ≥0.6 | ≥75 |
HDTV Broadcasting | 1000+ | ≥0.7 | ≥80 |
LEDRHYTHM - Cost of LED Soccer and Football Field Lighting
Using LED for football field lighting only has a higher initial cost. Compared with traditional lamps, the long-term operation and maintenance costs are extremely low. LEDRHYTHM LED flood lights for football field lighting have a luminous efficiency of 150 lm/W, saving over 60% energy compared to traditional metal halide lamps.
Traditional MH used for football field lighting:
- Power: 2000W
- Number: 96
- Total power consumption: 192 kW
- Annual power consumption: 192 × 4 hours × 300 days = 230,400 kWh
- Annual electricity cost: 230,400 × 0.12 = $27,648
- Lifespan: 8,000 hours (maintenance cost approximately $8,000 per year)
LEDRHYTHM football field lighting (150 lm/W)
- Power: 800W LED flood lights
- Number: 96
- Total power consumption: 76.8 kW
- Annual power consumption: 76.8 × 4 hours × 300 days = 92,160 kWh
- Annual electricity cost: 92,160 × 0.12 = $11,059
- Lifespan: 50,000 hours (maintenance-free, only approximately $2,000 per year for repairs)
LEDRHYTHM - LED Football Field Lighting Design
At LEDRHYTHM, LED Football Field Lighting Design is a systematic project that integrates optical design, field standards, sports experience and energy-saving. Feel free to contact us with your field information and lighting requirements. We will perform professional optical simulations and optimize light distribution curves. We will then customize a complete plan, including fixture power, beam angle, layout and mounting height, to achieve your desired uniformity, illumination and color rendering index standards.
How many watts of LED football field lights do I need?
When choosing LED football field lights, the wattage can be determined based on the size and intended use of the field. Generally speaking, low-wattage fixtures (200W–400W) are more suitable for small training or recreational soccer fields, meeting basic lighting needs while also being energy-efficient. Medium-wattage fixtures (500W–1000W) are typically used in amateur football competitions, offering high brightness while maintaining a reasonable balance between energy consumption and cost. High-wattage LED football field lights (above 1000W) are primarily used in professional competitions.
